Industrial and conveyor chains
Roller, conveyor and special chains, plus matching sprockets and spare parts for drives and conveyor systems.
What it is about
Industrial and conveyor chains are often designed specifically for the equipment, load and conveying task. We support the structured enquiry of roller, conveyor and special chains as well as matching sprockets and spare parts.
For standardised roller chains the designation is usually sufficient. Conveyor chains with attachments, scraper chains or chains for older equipment, by contrast, need to be aligned using a drawing, a sample chain or equipment data. We coordinate this alignment.
Terms such as pitch, chain designation 16B-1 or chain elongation are briefly explained in our glossary.
Product range
What you can enquire about
- Roller chains
- Simplex, duplex and triplex chains in European (DIN 8187) and American (DIN 8188) standard.
- Bush chains
- Chains without rollers, used among other things for low-speed conveying.
- Conveyor chains
- With large pitch, attachments or flights, for example to DIN 8165 and DIN 8167 or to drawing.
- Scraper chains
- For trough and scraper chain conveyors handling bulk materials.
- Pin and slat chains
- For pulling and lifting applications and for conveyors with carrier slats.
- Leaf chains
- Leaf chains for hoists and lifting masts, e.g. to DIN 8152.
- Sprockets
- Matched to pitch and chain type, single or multiple strand, with hub or to drawing.
- Spare parts for conveyors
- Connecting links, flights, attachments and wear parts for existing systems.
- Made to drawing
- Custom chains based on drawings, documentation or an existing sample chain.

What information we need
The more complete the information, the faster the supplier can confirm a suitable design. We clarify anything missing together with you.
| Information | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Chain type | existing designation or standard | e.g. 16B-1, 10A-2 |
| Pitch p | distance between two adjacent pin centres | e.g. 25.4 mm |
| Roller and pin diameter | measured on an unworn link | e.g. d1 15.88 mm |
| Chain width | inner width or overall width | e.g. 17.02 mm inner |
| Length | total length or number of links | e.g. 120 links |
| Load and duty | tensile load, speed, operating mode | e.g. continuous, 0.5 m/s |
| Material and environment | conveyed material, temperature, moisture, dust | e.g. mill scale, up to 200 °C |
| Documents | drawing, photo, sample chain | PDF, DWG, STEP, JPG |
| Delivery date | required date or shutdown window | e.g. shutdown week 50 |
Questions about industrial and conveyor chains
Frequently asked questions
You will find more answers in the general FAQ.
How do I measure the pitch of a chain?
The pitch is the distance between two adjacent pin centres. As used chains may be elongated, it is best to measure over several links and divide by the number of pitches.
Should chain and sprockets be replaced together?
Chain and sprockets usually wear together. Whether a joint replacement makes sense depends on chain elongation and tooth wear. Photos of the tooth flanks help the supplier assess this.
Can special chains be made to sample?
In principle yes, provided a drawing, a sample chain or sufficient equipment data is available. Manufacturing options and lead time are confirmed by the manufacturer.
What information is needed for conveyor chains with attachments?
In addition to chain type and pitch, mainly the type, position and spacing of the attachments or flights, hole patterns, material or surface finish, and details of the conveyed material and environment.
